A couple of tutorials on this site for Photoshop. Also has the archives of Kai Krause's (of Kai's Power Tools plug-in fame) old school Photoshop tutorials. The first tutorial in the "Photoshop Techniques" section shows how do to an interesting vignette look on a still. Yesterday I realized that using that same technique you can create a border-type effect by inverting the selection and using a texture image like marble or wood. Instead of cutting off the edges, invert your selection and create a hole in the texture. Save the selection to a channel, and export a targa file. You can import this file into the RT titler for a real-time custom border, i.e., video in the middle, texture around the edges. Since you can layer title files, this edge can dissolve into different textures or the same texture with different hue values. If anyone needs specific steps posted, lemme know. Have fun! ______________________________________________________________________ Add a drop shadow around the edges of the "hole" to make the video appear to be on top of the background, even though it's really underneath.
