Can anybody help with a major crashing issue using Cool 3D (vs 3) together with the Rex M1? I just bought the program, and it seems when I bring it in to Rex Edit, it will crash the machine 50% of the time. My ULead settings do select the Canopus compression and I am sizing it 720 x 480 (I've also tried 640 x 480 with the same results). When I import the file into the bin, I right click on the clip and "create an AVI file" otherwise it simply doesn't work. I then bring that new AVI file into the timeline. As I mention, sometimes it plays perfectly and other clips bring the machine to its knees. With a machine with this rock solid stability, this is really frustrating! Thanks for any help. BTW, I always get garbage in the first frame, but I can deal with that pretty easily. _________________________________________________ Okay I found it for you: Use Field order A, check the box for buffering and always use 150% for aplications outside of Canopus ie. Premiere, Cool3D, etc. Also, there is a fix for those that have problems using Cool3D with the Canopus CODEC. You have to edit a line in the Ulead32.ini file. Please add the following line: [HardwareAcc] NotSaveOpenDML=1 This will prevent the first frame from being all blotched up. If your system can handle it , then use "Best" settings or the "Optimal" for all your options to do with final output and rendering of your project in Cool3D. Remember to use NTSC filters for your output if going to video, for the internet this is not necessary. John Glantz Glantz Tracks Productions
