Getting Cool 3D Titles into RexEdit via Boris F/X 1.Create title in Cool 3D. Use pure blue background (blue=255) 2. Export from Cool 3D as bmp file. 3. In RexEdit place title bmp file and live video clip in bin 4. Drag Title clip, then video clip to timeline. (I put title in front of video clip) Note: In Boris the overlay clip has to be the first one in the list of clips. Having the title first on the timeline automatically accomplishes this. You can have the title second in the timeline, however. All you have to do is drag the clip from the #2 track in Boris to the #1 track. 5. Drop transition between clips 6. Increase the length of transition to that of the title clip. 7. In transition settings box choose Natasha (opens Boris F/X) 8. In Boris select the filter tab along bottom of screen 9. Under Filter type choose chroma key. 10 Under color tab, choose the eyedropper tool and select the blue color 11. If you're lucky at this point the preview window will show your title over the video. 12. You should change the transition change to hold. 13. Use same settings for end key frame. 14. Hit OK to get out of filter window, OK to get out of Boris, and OK to get out of transition settings. Render the transition. More about titles in Cool 3D (making an avi of title) Go to your menu at the top and click Image, then Dimensions and make sure it is set for 720 x 480 pixels. When you Create Video Files, on the screen where you type the file.avi name in, make sure it is set to 29.97 frames/sec and Field Order A. When you click save, you then get a video compression screen. Make sure you choose the Canopus DVRex Compressor. Works great for me . Keep the background pure blue then use Boris chromakey filters to overlay it on top of live video. Terry,
