Yes, filters are applied as transitions. But when I do this, I first open a new
       Rex edit, put the clip I want to filter on the timeline, then I put it on again
       next to the first one. I drag the transition so that it covers the whole clip. I
       right click on the red transition, go to settings, Natasha, configure and Boris
       opens. I then just delete one of the tracks and apply filters to the remaining
       one. Click okay back to Rex Edit and render the transition. Then I save this new
       clip as a separate file (go to file, "Save as new AVI file"). Then I bring the
       project back up and insert the new filtered clip.
